Anyone who is into having a fish tank understands the importance of getting the right filter for such a tank.

You might sometimes find that the aquarium gets dirty more often, so you need the right filter to help with maintaining clean water in the aquarium.

The SunSun HW304B canister filter should be able to do such work correctly. Below, you will get to learn more about what such a filter can offer.

SunSun Hw303B 370GPH Pro Canister Filter Kit

Table of Contents

Impressive Capacity

The HW-304B kit is made to be quite useful for filtering larger sized aquariums of up to 100 gallons of water capacity. The model does a great job, making it popular among many users.

With an overall capability to handle 370 GPH, this filter has a faster filtration process than many other models. If you need the aquarium filtered quickly, then this should be the model to get today.

Better Water Filtration

This is the whole point of getting this canister in the first place. The water filtration of this model should be able to live up to your standards easily.

The manufacturer made it have a three-stage filtration process to increase the chances of effectively cleaning the water. The three stages include chemical, mechanical, and biological filtrations.

That is not all when it comes to filtration, though. There is an inclusion of a 9W UV sterilizer in this model. With that kind of power, the model uses the UV to kill all the harmful algae and bacteria. Not many canister filters have such a feature.

In the end, you should have clean water for your fish. Just think of their living conditions as the same as your house. You would not want to keep living in a dirty environment. The best part is that you get to keep the fish healthy at all times.

Low Noise Operation

You will hardly hear any noise coming from the filter unless you are really close to it. For that reason, many aquarium owners would love to install it, as it gives them a quiet operation.

This is especially true when you have to keep it running at night while you sleep. A noisy filter might not always be comfortable for you, or even the fish, at such times.

Easy to Use

A canister filter would only be great if the user could actually use it for the filtration process. It is important to always choose the best filter for the aquarium.

The HW-304B model comes with an easy to use control and installation system. If you have not worked on one before, that should not be a problem, as the manufacturer offers a great manual.

With the manual, you can also learn what to do in order to increase capacity whenever needed. The manual will always provide you with a guide on how to set up the whole canister whenever it is shipped to your location, and the language used in the manual is quite simple to understand.

Easy Maintenance

Yes, the canister filter will, at some point, need some maintenance. The aim is to keep it working properly at all times so that it can work just the way you want.

Taking apart the filter is just as easy as the way you assembled it. If you are unsure of how to do it, always consult your manual.

There are a number of videos online that can help with the process, too. Once you have disassembled it, you can clean it out and restock the filtration material before putting it back together.

Replacing the filter media is often quite easy if you know the sequence. The filter media has to be arranged in the right sequence to ensure that it works correctly. The best thing to do would be buying the additional filter media when buying the canister for the first time.

This should make it easy to swap them in and out without making a new purchase for the filters. Follow the steps in the manual when changing the media.

Pros

  • It is easy to set up the product
  • The 9W sterilizer can easily kill dangerous algae and bacteria
  • The filter can handle 370 gallons of water in just an hour
  • The product operates quietly

Cons

  • Some customers had issues with the filter motors
  • The UV sterilizer might have additional negative effects when left on for prolonged periods

Verdict

There is no way you can easily underestimate the performance of the HW304B canister filter. The product will provide you with all the features you have always wanted in an aquarium filter.

Such features include a better filtration process and quick turnaround on filtrations, among others. You will always have peace knowing that your fish tank is well-cleaned when such a filter is installed on it.

Instead of providing the manufactures gph, why not offer a “real world” value with the canister under the tank and filled with media. It can be 1/2 the reported flow rate from the company making and selling them!

      Hi there
I am K. Raysun Bhakar from India. I had commented regarding my 11 watts UV Bulb that I got from Singapore.

I had requested your feed back regarding the use of the 11 watts UV Bulb in my Sun Sun H W 304 B Canister Filter. But no help from your end. My Aquarium is still runs with the Boyu HOB Filter.

I would very much appreciate if you could help me. Other wise I will have to run the 304 B with the 9 watts UV Bulb. Thank you

There is a small switch under a small round cover which looks like an inverted cup.
Pull it out gently and press the on/ off switch to ON position.

the Canister Filter is making a growling type noise, hardly ever made a noise before, is it possible the Magnet could be making this noise, or what needs to be fixed to get it back to quiet
